tenpin bowling
Strike and spare
Tenpin bowling is the most common form of bowling, played by rolling a ball down a wooden lane to knock down ten pins arranged in a triangle.
Each player gets two rolls per frame across ten frames.
A strike knocks down all pins on the first roll; a spare clears them on the second.
Often shortened to just bowling in American English.
