newscasting

Delivering televised reports

Newscasting is the broadcasting of news on television or radio.

The term emphasizes the delivery aspect—the anchor reading from a teleprompter, the live reports from the field: She studied journalism but found her calling in newscasting.

A newscaster is one who presents the news, distinct from the reporters who gather it.
