narcosis
Chemically induced stupor
Narcosis is a state of stupor or unconsciousness produced by drugs or other chemicals.
The term appears most often in diving contexts, where nitrogen narcosis—sometimes called the rapture of the deep—affects divers at significant depths, causing confusion, impaired judgment, and euphoria similar to alcohol intoxication.
