blowhard

All talk, nothing

A blowhard is a person who talks too much, especially about themselves or their accomplishments.

The word carries strong connotations of empty boasting—all wind, no substance: Every office has its blowhard who takes credit for everything.

The term is dismissive but not especially harsh.
