musical scores
Orchestral sheet music
Musical scores are written representations of music, showing notes, rhythms, dynamics, and other instructions for performance.
A full orchestral score displays all instrumental parts simultaneously, while individual players read from separate parts extracted from it.
Composers write scores; conductors read them; musicians interpret them.
The term extends to film and theatrical music: The musical score earned an Academy Award nomination.
