mudbug
Louisiana crawfish slang
Mudbug is Southern and Cajun slang for a crayfish—the small freshwater crustacean that resembles a miniature lobster.
The name comes from the creature's habit of burrowing in mud along river bottoms and bayous.
We're having a mudbug boil this weekend.
