monoplegic
Single limb immobilized
Monoplegic describes paralysis affecting a single limb—one arm or one leg—while the rest of the body retains normal function.
The term applies both to the condition and to a person who has it: The stroke left him monoplegic in his right arm.
Compare with paraplegic (both legs), hemiplegic (one side of the body), and quadriplegic (all four limbs).
