mineral spring
Natural therapeutic source
A mineral spring is a natural spring whose water contains dissolved minerals—often sulfur, iron, or salts—in concentrations high enough to give it a distinctive taste or supposed therapeutic properties.
Historically, people traveled to mineral springs seeking health benefits: The town became a resort after its mineral springs were discovered.
Many spa towns developed around such springs.
