underground lake
Cave's hidden water
An underground lake is a body of water contained within a cave, cavern, or other subterranean space.
These lakes form when water collects in underground chambers, often fed by aquifers or seeping groundwater.
Some are vast enough to explore by boat: Divers mapped the underground lake beneath the limestone formation.
