military presses
Shoulder strength exercise
Military presses are a weightlifting exercise in which a barbell or dumbbells are pressed overhead from shoulder height while standing, keeping the body rigid without leg drive or backward lean.
The name comes from the strict, upright posture resembling a soldier at attention: I do military presses twice a week for shoulder strength.
