microtask
Brief digital chore
A microtask is a small, discrete unit of work that can be completed quickly—typically in seconds or minutes.
The term appears in crowdsourcing platforms where complex projects are broken into tiny pieces distributed to many workers: tagging images, transcribing short audio clips, verifying data.
In computing, microtasks are operations queued for execution after the current script completes but before other events.
