meningiomas
Membrane-covering brain growths
Meningiomas are tumors that grow from the meninges—the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
Most are benign and slow-growing, often discovered incidentally during brain imaging for other reasons.
Symptoms depend on location and size: headaches, vision problems, or seizures may develop as the tumor presses on nearby structures.
The MRI revealed a small meningioma near her optic nerve.
