Medieval literature comprises the written works produced in Europe roughly from the fall of Rome (5th century) through the Renaissance (15th century).
This includes epic poetry like *Beowulf*, romances of chivalry and courtly love, religious texts, chronicles, and allegories like Dante's *Divine Comedy*.
Much was composed in Latin, though vernacular works in Old English, Middle English, Old French, and other tongues increasingly appeared.
She specialized in medieval literature, focusing on Arthurian romances.
