median age
Halfway through demographics
Median age is the age that divides a population exactly in half—half the people are older, half are younger.
Unlike average age, which can be skewed by extremes, median age gives a clearer picture of a population's typical age: The median age in Japan is 48, while in Nigeria it's 18.
