mailcoach
Letter-carrying vehicle
A mailcoach was a horse-drawn coach that carried mail and passengers on scheduled routes, especially in Britain during the late 18th and 19th centuries.
Before railways, mailcoaches were the fastest form of long-distance transport, running on strict timetables: The mailcoach arrived at midnight.
Also spelled mail coach.
