live shows
Real-time stage events
Live shows are performances given before an audience in real time—concerts, theater, comedy, and the like.
The term distinguishes events where performers and audience share a space from recorded or broadcast entertainment: I prefer live shows to studio albums.
Live shows may also be broadcast as they happen: Saturday Night Live is performed in front of a live studio audience.
