RSS feeds

Automated content streams

RSS feeds are web content formats that deliver updates from websites automatically.

Users subscribe to feeds from news sites, blogs, or podcasts, and new content flows into a feed reader without visiting each site individually.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

The technology peaked in the 2000s but remains useful for tracking multiple sources: I follow fifty blogs through RSS feeds.
