Manta
Pacific coastal city
A manta is a large ray with wing-like pectoral fins that span up to seven meters, found in tropical and subtropical waters.
Mantas swim by flapping these fins in graceful, bird-like motions.
The word comes from Spanish for blanket or cloak, describing the creature's flat, broad shape.
A manta is also a rough-textured cotton fabric.
