lava bomb
Airborne molten rock
A lava bomb is a mass of molten rock ejected from a volcano during an eruption, typically larger than a fist and often cooling into distinctive rounded or twisted shapes as it flies through the air.
These projectiles can travel considerable distances and pose serious hazards near active volcanoes: A lava bomb the size of a basketball crashed through the tour boat's roof.
