landmen
Not sailors, these
Landmen is the plural of landman, a person who works on land rather than at sea.
In the oil and gas industry, a landman negotiates with property owners for drilling rights, researches land titles, and manages leases: The company sent landmen to secure mineral rights across the county.
The term preserves the older -men plural rather than the gender-neutral landpeople.
