isometric hold
Motionless muscle tension
An isometric hold is a strength exercise where you maintain a fixed position under tension without moving—holding a plank, staying at the bottom of a squat, or keeping your arms extended.
The muscle contracts but doesn't change length.
I added a thirty-second isometric hold at the top of each rep.
