island hopper
Inter-atoll commuter
An island hopper is someone who travels between multiple islands, typically on vacation, visiting several in succession rather than staying on one: We spent two weeks as island hoppers in Greece.
The term also applies to small aircraft or boats that make short routes connecting islands.
Island-hopping as a strategy was notably used in the Pacific during World War II.
