image reconstruction
Reassembling visual data
Image reconstruction is the process of creating a visual image from incomplete, encoded, or indirect data.
In medical imaging, CT and MRI scanners collect raw measurements that algorithms transform into viewable images of the body's interior.
The term also applies to recovering corrupted photographs, enhancing degraded footage, or computationally assembling images from fragmentary sources: The AI performed image reconstruction on the damaged surveillance video.
