ilia
Large pelvic bones
Ilia is the plural of ilium, the broad upper portion of the hipbone.
The two ilia form the wings of the pelvis, the curved bones you feel at your hips: The X-ray showed fractures to both ilia.
In anatomy, the term distinguishes this specific bone from the ischium and pubis, which together compose each side of the pelvis.
