b-boying
Hip-hop athletic dance
B-boying is the original term for breakdancing—an acrobatic street dance style that emerged from 1970s hip-hop culture in New York City.
It involves intricate footwork, spins, freezes, and power moves performed close to the ground.
Practitioners are called b-boys or b-girls: He's been b-boying since he was twelve.
The term is preferred by many in the hip-hop community over the more mainstream "breakdancing."
