Homebrewed describes something made at home rather than commercially produced.
The term originally referred to beer or other alcoholic beverages brewed domestically: He served his homebrewed ale at the party.
It extends to anything crafted by amateurs or hobbyists: homebrewed software, a homebrewed solution.
The implication can be either charming authenticity or rough-around-the-edges quality.
