highlining

Tightrope at altitude

Highlining is slacklining performed at significant height—across canyons, between cliffs, or spanning buildings.

The slackline is a flat nylon webbing stretched taut between anchor points, walked like a tightrope but with more bounce and sway.

Highliners typically wear a safety harness attached to the line.

The sport combines balance skills with exposure to heights that would be fatal without protection: She spent three years on low lines before attempting her first highline.
