Stuck on hump
High-centering is getting a vehicle stuck when the undercarriage catches on an obstacle—a rock, ridge, or mound—leaving the wheels unable to gain traction.
The chassis rests on the high point while the tires spin uselessly: We high-centered on a boulder and had to dig ourselves out.
Common in off-road driving and on rutted dirt roads.
