floorpan
Car's metal floor
The floorpan is the sheet metal forming the floor of a vehicle's body, welded to create the structural base.
It sits beneath the interior carpet and supports the seats, transmission tunnel, and footwells.
Rust commonly attacks floorpans on older cars: The floorpan was so corroded you could see the road through it.
Also spelled as two words: floor pan.
