Congenital labial fissure
A harelip is a cleft lip—a congenital split in the upper lip, so called from its resemblance to a hare's divided lip.
The term is now considered offensive and has been replaced in medical contexts by "cleft lip." The surgery corrected the baby's cleft lip and palate.
