gunport
Ship's firing hole
A gunport is an opening in the side of a ship or fortification through which a cannon or gun can be fired.
On warships, gunports were typically fitted with hinged covers that could be closed to keep out water when the guns weren't in use: The crew opened the gunports and ran out the cannons.
