fowler
Wild bird hunter
A fowler is a person who hunts wild birds, particularly waterfowl.
The word is old-fashioned, largely replaced by more specific terms like duck hunter or bird hunter in contemporary usage: The fowler set out before dawn with his dog and decoys. (Capitalized Fowler is a surname.)
