flight control
Aircraft maneuvering system
Flight control refers to the systems and methods for directing an aircraft's movement.
In aviation, flight controls include the physical surfaces (ailerons, elevators, rudder) and cockpit instruments pilots use to maneuver: The pilot checked his flight controls before takeoff.
Flight control also means the ground-based operation that monitors and directs aircraft: Flight control cleared us for landing.
In spacecraft, flight control encompasses mission control operations and attitude adjustment systems.
