factorial
Multiply all predecessors
Factorial is a mathematical operation that multiplies a positive integer by every positive integer below it.
The factorial of 5 (written 5!) equals 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1, or 120.
Factorials grow extremely fast and are fundamental in probability, combinatorics, and calculating permutations: How many ways can you arrange six books? Six factorial, or 720.
