between-subjects
Separate groups compared
Between-subjects describes an experimental design where different participants are assigned to different conditions, so each person experiences only one treatment.
A between-subjects study comparing two drugs would give Drug A to one group and Drug B to another, then compare outcomes.
Contrast with within-subjects designs, where the same participants experience all conditions.
