exo-
Opposite of endo-
Exo- is a prefix meaning outside or external, the opposite of endo-.
It appears in scientific and technical vocabulary: an exoskeleton is on the outside of the body, exothermic reactions release heat outward, and exoplanets orbit stars beyond our solar system.
The prefix occasionally appears in casual coinages: exo-guilt for guilt about external circumstances.
