equator line
Earth's central belt
The equator line is the imaginary circle around Earth at zero degrees latitude, equidistant from the North and South Poles.
It divides the planet into Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
The phrase is slightly redundant—the equator is itself a line—but appears in casual usage: The equator line runs through Ecuador and Kenya.
