A terrestrial globe is a spherical model of the Earth showing continents, oceans, and geographic features.
Unlike a celestial globe, which maps the stars, a terrestrial globe represents Earth's surface: The classroom had a terrestrial globe on the teacher's desk.
The term distinguishes it from other globes but is often shortened to simply "globe" when context is clear.
