Facing sewn to seam

Understitch is a sewing technique where the seam allowance is stitched to the facing or lining, close to the seam line, on the inside of a garment.

This prevents the facing from rolling outward and showing on the right side: Understitch the neckline facing to keep it flat.

The stitch remains invisible from the outside.
