seamline

Where pieces join

A seamline is the line where two pieces of fabric are sewn together, or more broadly, any line marking where separate elements join.

In cartography and aerial photography, seamlines indicate where adjacent images or map sheets meet: The software automatically generates seamlines between overlapping photos.

In garment construction, the seamline is the actual stitching line, distinct from the cutting line.
