Terrans are inhabitants of Earth, from the Latin *terra* meaning land or earth.
The word appears almost exclusively in science fiction, where it distinguishes earthlings from aliens or colonists of other worlds: The Martian delegation refused to negotiate with the Terrans.
In gaming, Terrans often name a human faction alongside alien races.
