Unsorted means not arranged in any particular order.
Items that are unsorted remain in whatever sequence they arrived or accumulated: unsorted mail piled up on the desk, an unsorted list of names.
In computing, unsorted data hasn't been organized by any criterion—alphabetical, numerical, or otherwise.
The word implies a task waiting to be done.
