diarists

Personal record keepers

Diarists are people who keep diaries—personal written records of daily events, thoughts, and observations.

The term applies both to private journal-keepers and to those whose diaries have become historically or literarily significant: Samuel Pepys and Anne Frank remain among history's most celebrated diarists.
