devaluing
Reducing perceived value
Devaluing is reducing the worth or importance of something.
A government may devalue its currency against others.
More commonly, the word describes diminishing someone's contributions or feelings: Stop devaluing my opinion.
To devalue yourself is to underestimate your own worth.
The process of devaluing often happens gradually and unconsciously.
