demodulating
Reversing carrier modulation
Demodulating is extracting the original signal from a modulated carrier wave.
In radio and television, broadcast signals are encoded onto carrier frequencies for transmission; the receiver demodulates them back into sound or images.
The process reverses modulation: The chip handles demodulating the FM signal.
