deionization
Stripping charged particles
Deionization is the removal of ions from a substance, especially water.
The process strips dissolved minerals and salts, producing highly purified water for laboratory, industrial, or medical use.
Deionized water lacks the conductivity of tap water because it contains no charged particles.
The lab uses deionization to prepare samples.
