decolonise
End colonial rule
Decolonise (also decolonize) means to free from colonial status—granting independence to a territory previously ruled by a foreign power.
The term extends to removing colonial influence from institutions, curricula, or ways of thinking: efforts to decolonise the university curriculum, decolonising the mind.
This broader sense involves questioning whose perspectives, histories, and values are centred in any system.
