decimal place

After the point

A decimal place is a position to the right of the decimal point in a number.

The first decimal place holds tenths, the second hundredths, the third thousandths, and so on.

Precision is often specified by decimal places: Round to two decimal places means keep two digits after the point, as in 3.14.
