fixed point
Unchanging spatial coordinate
Fixed point has meanings in mathematics and computing.
In math, a fixed point is a value that remains unchanged when a function is applied to it—if f(x) = x, then x is a fixed point.
In computing, fixed-point arithmetic uses numbers with a set number of decimal places, contrasting with floating-point: The system uses fixed-point representation for currency calculations.
A fixed point can also be any stable reference used for measurement or navigation.
