darklord
Sinister supreme villain
A darklord is a powerful evil figure who rules over a realm of darkness or shadow—the archetypal villain in fantasy fiction and gaming.
The term evokes gothic imagery: a malevolent being commanding dark forces from a forbidding stronghold.
The darklord's armies swept across the land.
In gaming communities, darklord sometimes refers playfully to anyone with authoritarian control over a domain: Our IT darklord blocked social media again.
